What about parents & guardians?

We know that being part of a rainbow family is not only breathtakingly beautiful, but it can be challenging to navigate safely through society. Our goal is to make sure that every member of the queer community can find strength in numbers and we think this is a great place to start. AABA's Parent & Guardian group is a place for adults with LGBTQ+ children they love and care for to build a network of people that have either been there, will be there, or are there now. They meet on the 4th Sunday of the month at Diversions Crafting Studio at 3pm.

Be You Closet: Gender affirming clothing & more

The Be You Closet was born from the minds of our Parents & Guardians group. We aim to offer a safe space for folks needing to find gender-affirming clothing, accessories, & more. We are currently setting up the permanent location for the closet and are only open by appointment. You can email Jenn directly at jteehee@advocateba.org or reach out via our socials. We are not currently taking clothing donations, but we need supplies and storage. We've set up an Amazon wishlist that you can find here or you can give monetarily via the Donate Now button at the top of this page.

Trans Panel

The Trans Panel is a monthly community discussion group hosted by AABA. Each month, we will have a few panelists to share their stories, answer questions, and make themselves available to serve as a pseudo mentor for trans families, trans individuals, and people wanting to become better allies. The panel meets once a month and is RSVP only. If you have questions that you'd like answered but aren't up to asking it in person, you can submit your questions anonymously here.

Disability Co-op

The Disability Co-op was established to create a safe and welcoming environment for individuals in our community who have disabilities. We embrace all disabilities, whether visible or invisible. Our aim is to offer a supportive space where members can share the highs and lows of living with a disability, voice their frustrations, find camaraderie with others who have similar experiences, and support each other in the journey of self-advocacy. Discussions will be thoughtfully guided with relevant topics or planned activities. Additionally, we aim to assist one another in finding valuable resources. Member input is highly encouraged and appreciated. The 1st (first) Tuesday of every month at 7pm.
